Winning trio

Winning trio

My husband usually does most of the cooking when we host dinner parties. He discovered his love for kitchen experimenting a few years ago when he got hooked on a season of Master Chef Australia and now whips up delicious roasts, risottos and pastas. But he doesn’t do desserts.

With the busyness of life, I used to opt for a quick and easy bowl of chocolates or a cheese and fruit platter, which can be put together in a few minutes, with one hand if necessary. This was until Gogo recently told me I need to make “nice desserts” for my guests and for my husband! Thankfully, it was around the same time that I signed up to receive the weekly PnP Supper Sorted emails (sign up at http://www.picknpay.co.za/suppersorted). These Thursday emails have great recipes which use simple ingredients, are family and time friendly and have a dessert recipe every week.

A few weeks ago, one of the dessert recipes caught my eye and I’ve since tried it a couple of times. This trio of finely crushed ginger biscuits, a tin of condensed milk and melted white chocolate make the most delicious ginger truffles. They have been a winner each time! I’ve served them with a creamy vanilla ice cream or simply on their own. Get the recipe here and give them a try. So simple and so delicious!
